Arlington Street Investments (ASI) values community input and believes that early and sustained public engagement is critical to the success of its projects.
ASI’s approach to engagement is founded on its commitment to ensure that the public have consistent access to accurate and timely project information, including development plans, relevant policy and application information, and opportunities to provide input. This approach helps foster a relationship of transparency and honesty, and allows you to become meaningfully involved in the application process.
Once you have submitted your input on an ASI project, the following steps typically occur:
All written feedback is transcribed into a master database.
This data is analyzed and grouped into categories based on the main theme of the comment.
For example, if a comment says “I appreciate the public gathering spaces that are incorporated into the project design,” the comment can be categorized and themed into two themes: Gathering Spaces and Project Design.
Once all input has been themed, a What We Heard report is developed that summarizes major findings of the engagement for the project. This report is shared publically through email blasts and on this website. This report is also included as an appendix in the application that is submitted to the City of Calgary.
Lastly, all engagement activities, including tactics used, who was contacted and what was heard, are summarized and included in the main body of the application
Your input is evaluated and considered alongside various other considerations and where possible, included in project design. Factors such as feasibility, cost, schedule and learnings from technical and environmental studies are also weighted in project decision making processes to ensure the most suitable development is built.
